Here I am, sitting cozily in the corner office, with a slight back pain. Not much to do at the moment, so my mind wanders as usual..to what could be, what would it be like and what not? Experimenting with different scenarios in my mind. I know this much, at least this is what the theme has been so far in my life. change. jus adapting to changes and new opportunities. I am not meant to be doing one thing for life, like being a soldier for life, being a pilot for life or being a teacher for life. I feel like I’m meant to be touching many shades of variety of career fields and that eventually leads me to a crucial point. which would most probably make me realize that there was no other way to reach this point. It had to be done through experiencing different career fields, just like how I always had a multitude of interests and hobbies. It’s never one thing, as I have always been wondering. but the question: “What’s that thing which you are destined to do?” is itself wrong. It’s never about that one thing, and who said that having that one thing makes all the difference? We need to have a shift in our perspectives. Question our hardcore thoughts and beliefs in order to completely help us align with our souls.
In this day and age, it’s very easy to get carried away by the chaos and the fast-paced nature of the world —especially in 2025. With the ever-present influence of social media constantly in our faces, showcasing how these youngsters have achieved all the fame and glamour in such a ridiculously short amount of time, with the rampant hustle culture of just earning all the bucks in the world (Nothing wrong with that tho). It’s making it increasingly difficult to turn inward, introspect and connect with our soul to figure out what we truly want in the stillness of quiet —amidst the constant background noise brought forth by the marvelous invention of the so called “Internet”.
It certainly wasn’t like this in the olden days, Things were simpler back then, as we were more connected with —nature, other humans, and animals. It kept our souls satisfied and content too. As we weren’t constantly bombarded with the false hopes of fame, beauty and success.
There weren’t so many expectations back then, nor so much pressure to remain perfectly beautiful. Things have gotten really complicated nowadays especially from the emotional health’s perspective. I know —you will probably say ‘Megha, quit social media, if it’s affecting you so much…’ I know! But even If I quit it’s not a really great or solid solution, you know? As the problem persists as long as social media exists.
Sure, limiting social media would help us go a long way forward. But more importantly than this, Spirituality is where we should be focusing on, especially now. When our emotional tolerance for pain and suffering is decreasing day by day. We need to reconnect with our soul by sitting still in a quiet place or amidst serene nature: meditating, which would help us connect with our individual consciousness, our spirit and especially the higher consciousness originating from the magnificent universe. In turn, this would help us recognize our true potential ie. —Our true power.
I believe, we all have been blessed with some unique sort of power for serving our true purpose in this world, but 99% of us don’t really know what that is, as we easily tend to get influenced by everything around us, it could be our friends, parents, and the social media constantly feeding us manufactured thoughts which are not ours to begin with! This is why it’s really important to introspect within us, ask us the hard questions and recognize that key power which will help us in aligning with our ultimate path to happiness, peace and contentment. As the more we are in alignment with our soul, the more we are connected with ourselves, the more we stay on the path that’s meant for fulfilling our highest desires and dreams.
We only get lost, when we lose touch with ourselves and our individuality, trying to please the society when it’s impossible to please them in the first place, getting carried away by the false narratives of the ever presence of social medias , making us feel anxious and insecure whilst comparing ourselves with the highly edited parts of others.
Social media is supposed to make us feel good, but it does the exact opposite, yet we choose to indulge with it? why? Because it gives us a temporary high for not having to deal with the things that actually matter in life. It’s a temporary escape from the reality. The more we do this, the more disconnected we feel with our soul, hence the anxiousness and the not feeling good thing.
I believe that all the intense negative feelings that pop up now and then are the soul’s way of telling us that we are not doing what’s meant to be done at that moment (whether it’s setting strict boundaries or working on our goals or dreams). It’s a sign that we are not truly aligned with our soul, our purpose for our highest good. But that negativity needs to come out of our system—and that’s a good thing.” This is why it’s strongly recommended to do the things we love from the bottom of our heart, which will contribute to our soul, heart and thereby our health like reading books, meditating, connecting with nature, painting, doing something new and creative, learning a new language, or focusing on expanding our growth (whether in business , achieving financial freedom etc.)
In short, follow and pursue your soul’s hunger, never settle for less baby, Afterall life’s real short 😉
